FANCY - 13.1 23 yr old beautiful welsh mare, ideal for trails, or intermediate-beginner lessons. Fancy can be forward and fun on the trail with an experienced rider, or she will babysit your 5 year old. She is mostlly retired from jumping but can still do cross rails or up to 2' maybe, auto lead changes. Shown successfully in hunter classes. Part leased at Covered Bridge Equestrian and must stay there. Access to trails from the property. Riding skills will be evaluated and beginner-intermediate riders must commit to at least 1 lesson a week. She is the sweetest, gentlest unicorn of a pony you'll ever meet.
JASMINE - 13.2 gray mare, approx 15-18 years old, trail or lessons. Jazzy was rescued from a kill pen in Texas. She's probably been having babies most of her life and is a little anxious under saddle. But she's had professional training and is ready to find her a riding buddy and hopefully a forever home. She needs a confident rider, so small adult or teen would be preferred. She is forward and really walks out. We think she would love to be a trail pony, would prefer to go with a more experienced friend. She's very happy at Covered Bridge Equestrian, Felton, so we would prefer for her to stay there but for the right home she can come to your barn. Jazzy is extremely kind, sweet and gentle. Not a novice ride and can be strong in hand, but very safe around kids in her stall. She just wants to be loved on. We will have a weight limit for her, she's on the lean side for her height and her pasterns are low, but she is completely sound.
THOMAS - 13.2 gray gelding, 9 years old. Tommy is a strong, athletic and intelligent boy who needs an experienced and firm rider and handler. We are looking for a home that can offer him a variety of activities as he's exceptionally intelligent and gets bored and frustrated with routine and repetition. He's been in a jumping program competing 2'9 courses (with the potential to go higher...he jumped my 5' pipe corral) but we likely won't place him in that situation again as he needs more variety and simply cannot be handled by kids or novices. He will test boundaries with everyone and manners in hand can deteriorate quickly in the wrong situation. OLDER TEENS OR ADULTS ONLY. He loves the trail and the beach, will go anywhere you point him, and he's extremely forward. Wants to be in front. Would make a great little endurance horse. Would probably love cross country jumping but no eventing because he hates arena work and going in circles. We were told he has tried sorting cows and enjoyed it, which makes sense as he's super smart, nimble and quick, and bossy...he will thrive on any job that involves a lot of physical and mental stimulation. Western or English ok but fights too much contact on the bit. He cannot live in a stall... No exceptions. Pasture preferred, would consider a spacious set up like a large corral and run-in shelter. Likes to interact with other horses and makes friends easily, but can be studdy at times. Recently restarted with a professional trainer, ready to go onto a new job. Lease or adoption (after a long trail) from Summit Horse Rescue.
