Apollo
Apollo is available for full or part lease only, this gorgeous guy had a rough start in life but he has my heart. I've made a lifelong commitment to him, he won't ever be sold again. However my daughter quit riding and he's too small for me, so he needs a good rider who can help him live his best life. Must be intermediate-advanced, teen or small adult. He is extremely forward, very sensitive and intelligent, but kinda green and sometimes spooky. Has trust issues and can be nervous to handle in certain situations (eg farrier and vet) but he is kind (no bucking, rearing, biting or kicking). Rides English or western. Definitely started western but he's been in an English hunter jumper program for a couple of years. Hunter classes are not really his thing, he doesn't enjoy the discipline and all the flatwork, but he does love to jump. He's fast and competitive, he always wants to GO and likes to be in front. Supposedly he's worked cows, we've never tried it but he's super smart and quick, I imagine he'd enjoy that job. Or maybe gymkhana or barrels. I don't want to condemn him to arena work for the rest of his life, he lives for the trail and the beach. Wasn't gelded until later in life so he still thinks he's a stud and wants to have a say in things, but he gets along amazingly with all horses and ponies...he spent the first 6 years of his life living feral in a herd of up to 100 horses and has the most sophisticated herd etiquette of any horse or pony I've ever met. He plays with the youngsters and the studdy young geldings, takes care of the mares, keeps the peace. He's an old soul. Loves being at pasture where he can socialize, so that would be my preference. I will be picky about the availability and frequency of turnout if he's moved to a barn. Im open to part or full lease keeping him at my house in the Santa Cruz Moutains (Summit Rd area, Los Gatos) or Covered Bridge Equestrian, Felton. Or take him to your property or board elsewhere and pay all his expenses. He is a stunning example of a POA, purebred but no papers, could be hardship registered. No flaws or injuries whatsoever except for a small gray spot in his eye from banging his face in the stall last year. I am only looking or the perfect riding partner for him, and I will be flexible for the right fit. If you're small and experienced and would love to ride a gorgeous turbo charged pony, lets talk!
